Mac are a good company to work for with regards to salary and benefits. If I’m honest I would recommend not working at MAC if you like your time and passion for makeup. This is because you live in London & can easily travel to the headquarters to redo it if you don’t pass, whereas if you can from Birmingham you will most likely pass because it’s very long to get you to travel back down to the London headquarters to redo your certification. If you work in a London MAC store they will be stricter on you when it comes to passing your makeup certifications.

They honestly believe that makeup is cosmetic surgery and you can get rid of their wrinkles & fill their face dips.customers will happily scream in your face & cry if something doesn’t go their way. There’s also a very high level of “friends promoted” by this I mean that if you are the top seller and the hardest worker and there’s a promotional opportunity the manager will most likely just choose her favourite colleague rather than the hardest worker.Ĭustomers slowly suck the passion for makeup out of you. As MAC stores are open 7 days a week you never get a weekend as you’re either always working Saturday or Sunday, your days off are NEVER consecutive and change week in week out. HOWEVER, the pay is AWFUL (the type of money you expect a 16 year old to make in their first ever job) I honestly earned more whilst in school working for Sainsburys. I worked at 2 different MAC stores over my years with the company and I can honestly say that most of the colleagues are lovely & you develop a store sisterhood.
